Pierre Joseph (born 1965, Caen) lives and works in Paris. He studied at the École supérieure d'art de Grenoble and collaborated with Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster, Philippe Parreno, and Bernard Joisten on landmark projects such as Ozone (1989) and Les Ateliers du Paradise (1990). He is considered one of the precursors of the movement that Nicolas Bourriaud would go on to term "relational aesthetics."

His work has been presented in solo exhibitions at numerous international institutions and galleries, including Frac Poitou-Charentes, Angoulême; Frac Languedoc Roussillon, Montpellier; Le Consortium, Dijon; Air de Paris, Paris; Palais de Tokyo, Paris; CCC OD, Tours; and Kunstverein Dresden.

His work is held in the collections of Frac Sud, Marseille; Frac Occitanie Montpellier; Centre Pompidou, Paris; Cnap, Paris; FMAC, Paris; Frac Champagne-Ardenne, Reims; Institut d'art contemporain, Villeurbanne; Van Abbemuseum, Eindhoven; MAMCO, Geneva; and Tate, London.
